Here's what's coming up at MIFDA:

Summer Break
We're taking a break for the Summer. Weekly dancing will resume on September 12th.

Season opener! Friday night folk dance
Friday, September 12
Drop in dance night. All skill levels welcome. This will be an all request night with minimal instruction.

Friday night folk dance: teaching begins
Friday, Sept. 19
Drop in folk dance. All skill levels welcome.
After a few easy warm up dances, there will be teaching for two dances, followed by a semi-programmed set to end the night.
Il Cantico Delle Creature -- sacred circle dance: music & lyrics from Italy, choreography from Netherlands, mainly taught by Ira Weisburd of USA
Zile -- lively dance from Maurits van Geel based on traditional steps of the Roma people

Culture Days - special event off-site
"Celebrating Cultures Through Dance" - 1-4 pm at the Forks
Saturday, Sept. 20

Along with three other groups, MIFDA helped create a Culture Days "Hub" under the title "Celebrating Cultures Through Dance." It will take place from 1-4 pm on Saturday, Sept 20 at the Forks Market event space. The other groups involved are Village Green English Country Dancers, Peg City Contra and Chile Lucha Y Canta. Each group will be leading or performing several dances.

Culture Days MIFDA open house
Friday, Sept. 26
MIFDA's annual Culture Days open house. The program is geared to welcome newcomers with several sets of 4 simple dances with teaching followed by one harder demonstration dance.
